Sometimes in a city, it can be a struggle to find genuinely tasty food as a vegetarian. Many restaurants have a single ‘veggie’ option and it’s often some form of a salad. This guide has 5 of the top restaurants to try in Glasgow if you want something a bit different with seriously tasty vegetarian food.

1.    Mono

From ‘tofish and chips’ to their vegan mac and cheese, Mono, situated in the city centre of Glasgow has all of the tastiest snacks for a starving vegetarian. Monorail Music is based here and the place is also a popular gig venue, meaning you can count on not only a good meal but a good night out as well. This place is completely free of any animal products to cater to vegans as well as vegetarians- but still manages to serve up classics like burgers and burritos. The perfect spot!

2.    Rose & Grants

In this establishment, they really do cater to the Glaswegian vegetarian, with their take on a vegan square sausage. The restaurant, based in the Trongate area of the city, is heavily popular with vegans and vegetarians alike- these people can’t all be wrong!

3.    Stereo

Not only is this bar/café one of the best places in Glasgow for some great, cruelty-free food- it is also home to one of the coolest music venues in the city. Small, but well-formed, the venue is host to various events from DJ nights to indie gigs. It’s hidden up a lane in Glasgow city centre, but once you’ve found it you’ll know it was worth the search.

4.    The Flying Duck

In Cowcaddens, this bar is handy for students at Glasgow Caledonian and for folks getting off the bus at the Bus Station- and it serves incredible burgers, hot dogs, and other cheat-day style treats. Another one to provide the entertainment along with the meal, this bar has everything from comedy and quiz nights, to live music sessions- you can’t have a bad night in here.

5.    Bloc+

Famous for both meat-eaters and veggies alike, Bloc+ is the last on our list of the best vegetarian eateries in Glasgow. Another brilliant rock and indie music venue, this restaurant serves up brilliant food with some new takes. The menu includes delights like the Veganoid and the Not Dog, both entirely meat-free and as tasty as you like.
