The question as to the effectiveness of raising happy kids has long perplexed researchers. It’s a question that is easy to define in terms of the child’s perspective – the way they see and perceive the world around them. It is a question of perception, and children whose perceptions are balanced and happy are more likely to achieve things their peers may struggle with. So what can parents do to ensure that their children are happy?
The first step in regards to raising happy kids is to ensure that you give your kids the freedom to express themselves, develop their talents, and pursue their passions. By giving them space, you give them a safe environment in which they can explore and discover who they really are. When you encourage your child to express themselves and show off their talents, you are helping them to form a healthy self-image. And when you show your child that you find their abilities and passions appealing, the confidence and the happiness that they feel in themselves usually spills over into their behavior – and this leads to much more success in life.
This is why “raising happy kids” is imperative in today’s society. There is so much pressure on children to conform and to grow up quickly, with little time or space to be themselves. But if a child’s development of their emotions and mental well-being is stunted early on, they will be unable to fully enjoy any of the important aspects of adolescence. Teach them from an early age about their feelings so they go into the world prepared and ready for every challenge. With so many apps and games for kids available, teaching them about emotions should be an easy task. By giving them space, encouraging their dreams and providing a stable, loving environment, you are helping them to build upon their natural gifts and develop the important components of social-emotional development.
